Garbage Service is available to all town residents within the City Limits. The garbage fee is $16.50 a month for residential. (Fees vary for businesses with dumpsters.) Business garbage collection is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Residential is on Tuesdays.
All trash must be put in a Town of Sparta trash can and placed at the curbside by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.
The ONLY Holidays the trash truck does NOT run are on Thanksgiving and Christmas. All other Holidays the trash truck will be collecting garbage.
1 FREE rolling trash can per address with the option to purchase an additional 90 gallon rolling trash can at the Town Office for $70.00.
Limit is 2 cans per household.
Water meters are read on or near the 27th day of each month depending on Holidays and weekends.
Water bills are mailed out the first of the month and due by the 15th of the month. If not paid by the 18th, a $10 late fee will be added to the bill. If not paid by the 18th of the second month , service will be disconnected and a re-connection fee of $40 charged and account must be paid in full before service resumes.

When building a home in Town:
You must check with Town Manager – Jose Butron or Zoning Administrator – Kevin Dowell regarding zoning. Any remodeling or refurbishing you must check with the Zoning Administrator.
Connection (tap) fees for new water and sewer service are as follows:
In City Limits, $1,500* for water and $1,500 for sewer.
Outside City Limits, $3,000 for water and $3,000 for sewer.
*For 3/4″ meter. Any meter larger than 3/4″ will be an increase in price.
Note: Property owner is responsible for water & sewer lines from the house to the road right-of-way where water & sewer hook-ups are available and if any boring is required.
A $100 Water Service Deposit is required before service connection.
